Which groupe de choose in Salvador Bahia

Which groupe de choose in Salvador Bahia
To choose a capoeira groupe before your travel to Salvador is apparently quite hard. In fact there is only two options :

Option 1
Your trip is organised by the groupe that you are training with in your country, then you don t need to find a capoeira school in Salvador

Option 2
Your capoeira groupe is not located in Salvador meanwhile you want to train there, in that case you need to find a groupe that suit you.

The 2nd Option :
First, i started look for information by searching on google for differents groupes that was besed in Salvador throught infortunatly i didn t find that much information (i guess internet website are not really commun for capoeira groupe in Salvador).

Then i extended my search accross community website like facebook, fortunatly a person in Salvador answered my question : "Which groupe could you advice me?"
Grupo topazio : no website
Associação mestre bimba : http://www.capoeiramestrebimba.com.br/

Physic and mental preparation before Salvador Bahia

Physic and mental preparation before the departure to Bahia
I stopped training capoeira on a regular basis the day that i moved back in France.

First i tried some capoeira groupes in Paris but i was not that please by the time that it took me to get from home to the training (two hours back and forward). Then i decided that the only solution for me was to realise one of my dream : train in Salvador bahia

I bought my ticket at the end of october for 900 euros, I will be in Paradise from the 18 of november to the 14 of January.

My preparation was quite far away from the Capoeira Roda. In fact i decided to run and train gym before my departure to Bahia. I took this training decision cause it was easier for me to train, the running will help me a lot in the roda to keep on and finally i guess i will train so much in Salvador that i will hate at some point capoeira so that is why i did not wanted to abuse of this beautifull art before Bahia.

As i am quite curious i i want to know everything before my departure i start to search for information on internet. During my investigation i found a really good documentary about Salvador da Bahia, please look at it and dreammmmmmm

My love story with capoeira

My capoeira love story before leaving for Bahia
Yes only two more weeks to go and i am on a capoeira training in Salvador Bahia.

In 2002, i started capoeira in a Groupe called Capoeira Brasil. It was in fact a young but good capoeiriste that was trying to become instructor that was training us once a week in Colombes (city attached to Paris).
After one year a training i decided to start break dancing and than i came back to capoeira 4 years after in a small Swedish town called Örebro. At the beginning we were an independant capoeira groupe, but at the end of 2006 we get in contact with some people from the groupe Besouro Manganga and started to be under their wings. The first year with Besouro Manganga leaded by Mestre Lobao in Brasil and Instructor Careca + Boca in Sweden was great (a lot of workshop and great batizado with mestre Lobao and contra mestre lua branca from capoeira Male...). Meanwhile the second year, the number of workshop and training we had in Örebro from instructor Boca or Careca were really limited due to the fact that both instructors received at the same time the fantastic gift of life = a Baby :]. Anyway in Örebro the capoeira groupe has always be selfsufficient, thanks to Fred, Barsom, Peixe, Mafioso, Annika, Gaoutcho and now Anders there is always someone motivated to lead the training and have fun together :]. In this groupe my appelido is Baguette, yeah it is cool to be french :0...... I could writte a lot about this groupe but the goal of this blogg is more focus on Capoeira in Salvador de bahia.

I am from Paris, and in Paris there is many capoeira groupe to choose from. Only one probleme which one should i choose ? I went back from Sweden in September 2008 and has tried two type of capoeira in Paris. One from the groupe Abada = training in Portuguese and quite intensive (technics and physic). Another from the Association Vamos which is under the groupe Senzala = great for real beginners due to the 14 training a week and friendly instructors but for advance i don t know cause i haven t seen them due to the fact that they have their special training (and to get in you need apparently to be advance... but if you are between beginners and advance when is your training?). So on my way back from brasil i need again to spend some time to find a capoeira groupe that feets me and that is close to my work and home.
